that measures 48" x 64"
it took 192- 4 1/2" blocks
Yes you can!
the warm and cool mosaic block sampler....a couple of the cools need to be a little more dominant to help make the pattern pop
Start with a hot fabric and a cool fabric 5" square....drew a line down the diagonal center....stitch on either side of the line.....cut on the drawn line....press.....trim to 4 1/2" square....this will make two of many to add to a quilt!

Millennium Quilts: Oh, the beauty of
Quilt chapter members made a public display: of their millennium quilts! They all were given the same number of 2 1/2" squares out of many pieces of fabric....and just look at the quilt designs....all original to each quilter. And not one of the 2000 blocks were wasted. If they didn't fit the front, they certainly did the back..... Oh, they were jolly good fellows!

Quilted....flange and binding completed!
Oh boy! It's finished. I had very little fabric with which to bind this table topper quilt and didn't want the butterfly fabric to touch the same fabric in the quilt.....so, I found a contrasting fabric and made the little 1/4" flange.....I think it made it better! Go back one post to see the rest of the table topper: It's 28" square and ready for "my half-square addiction" demonstration ~

'Migration' quilt top is finished....but it's hanging upside down for the photo! My geese are really migrating west, then south! Isn't that the usual route to find a warm climate?

Migration: tis the season
It's still all about half-square triangles and the patterns they make. Can you see where I'm going? It's migration season and my geese are flying high and making lots of noise! We are half way home - I'll let you know when we get there:

It's a happy quilt top.....
It's a happy quilt on such a beautiful day....you can see the shadows where the sun is shining through the arbor. I love throwing my quilts over this patio table to get pictures....I don't let the shadows bother me not one bit!

It started here....where I pulled some coordinating fabrics and found the pattern I wanted to use. It's really a three-fabric-pattern, but I used five fabrics....which is perfectly okay! Now the quilt top is finished and ready to go to one of my favorite longarm quilters tomorrow. YES!
Simply a Joy
It was a wonderful week - just passed - but now I'm home and it was a pure and simple joy....to see my HuMAn and get his hug and kiss and then to pull into my drive and see my house with unshuttered windows with lights on in every room and to sleep in my bed under a handmade quilt and to awake to fresh brewed coffee and to unpack my few purchases while in Olympia and Seattle:
Only two fabric stamp pads from Scarlet Empress where shopping can be done online or at a beautiful storefront - 109 5th St. SE, Olympia, WA. It is a real treat to participate in one of Teri's card-making classes.
I used great restraint at Shipwreck Beads but it was love at first sight when I spotted the the vibrant orange, citrus and aqua....to be used to adorn the spines of my handmade books.
Only two purchases made at Sur la Table - four mini loaf pans.....hoping this will keep the calorie count low! and four flour sack dish towels. They'll probably stay in my art/sewing studio! Some things (no matter how under-rated) are just too good to be used in the kitchen. Storefront - #84 Pine Street: where the economy doesn't seem to have an effect!
The perfect wool yarn to knit and felt hot pads So Much Yarn on Elliott Ave, Seattle. Way back in January, I found four patterns at the purl bee for the coolest of cool hot pads!
No purchases required if you make your garden leaves your stamps! Just find a leaf in your garden with spines that really stand out and paint or stamp the leaf back then press on fabric or card stock. Nice!
