Oh, Yes! I've been auditioning inner border fabrics and it's beginning to take on a life of its own.
I did so enjoy this modern fabric but decided it would be making too much of a statement so I rejected it......then pulled it back out again with a new attitude.
And, in that same spirit, I auditioned it with the little peachy border. Works very peachily for me.
Oh, yes.....A Life Of Its Own
All eight of the small New York beauty blocks (aqua and yellow) are completed, now to tackle the large gray and orange ones. When all that is done, perhaps I can tell more about how those borders will fit. Thankfully, this quilt's life isn't set in stone and can take on a new one with just the change of a fabric.
My day is cut out for me.
The colors in this star are just awesome! Saw it on Facebook and had to check it out. Love it with that modern white and grey/black pattern fabric. This is going to be fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteI only had a taste of the border fabric I wanted to use, so the rest is on order. Hope this works out a perfectly on the design wall as it is in my head.
Deleteoh my. This is just amazing! I would so love to have one like this! You are over the top talented ! Wow! Just Wow!
ReplyDeleteThank you Rae....thank you indeed for such a grand compliment.
ReplyDeleteYour star is gorgeous, Marty! I love the color combinations especially with the blocks radiating out of the black center. The peach border and the orangey polka dot do a fabulous job of pulling the peachy colors out of the star, but I'm glad I don't have to choose the print! It's too difficult a decision. I love one, look again and love another. Nope, chickie, this one's on you! (choose your favorite)
