It's been a rainy Saturday morning so after exercise, I played. I thought this quilt layered with the hydrangea bud made a good combo! This little art quilt was in a gallery in downtown Padacuh. I truly must learn how to "rust" fabric. I'm sure it's easy...do you reckon rusty unused yard tools would work!

Hey Marty,
ReplyDeleteI THINK there is an article in one of my Art Quilter magazines about how to rust fabric. It is a simple process as i recall, but the downside is that it compromises the fabrics... they won't last as long. Remind me about it in a couple of weeks (after I get back from vacation) and I'll look it up for you.

Lovely work per usual.
ReplyDeleteYes, lot of the art mags have instructions for rusting fabrics...you might just Google that.
Marty see Cloth Paper Scissors Nov/Dec 2007 issue 15: 7 recipes for rust pg 66.
ReplyDeleteYou can probably buy a back issue on line from them inexpensively.
Hi Marty,
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog because I come across new techniques (well, new to me anyway) that I enjoy learning. I've always been fascinated by quilting, but my fiber arts have been more with sewing, knitting, and crochet.
Thanks for the beautiful images.
Lois
