I'm delighted to have gotten this far - but did I say, I'm not having fun yet. Why, oh why do I feel so compelled to start what I finish.? And why, oh why, did I even desire to start this little 15" x 20" something?
I saw the picture/pattern in a miniature quilts mazagine dated around 1994 - should have let that one age some more.....beyond insanity!
Continue on your journey to see the design wall of other beautiful quilters.....Yes, they are having fun!
I love your quilt and I love. love. love that block. I did a king-sized one.
ReplyDeleteAre you having ANY fun putting together these great scrappy blocks? Have you learned anything? Even if you don't know WHY you started this small quilt or WHY you feel compelled to finish it, I hope there was something positive about the process ... and the little quilt will be lovely--even if you don't love the final result, I'll bet someone you know would love to have it.
ReplyDeleteI feel ya. Sometimes you get want to get past the piecing part and start stitching things together. There is always apart of the process you just want to get through and onto the other side of. Looks good though!
ReplyDeleteI took a class years ago with a national teacher who had us making this block. Everyone brought a certain number of squares of fabric. They were put in piles on a table. We were to walk around taking whatever the top piece was on a pile until all the pieces were distributed. Then she wanted us to put them in a paper bag, pull them out and make the next block. We found that, by using the same neutral background throughout, all the blocks went together.
ReplyDeleteYou may not be having fun, but it's turning into a really nice quilt! I predict that you will be really happy with the result.
